Understand patterns without losing context
A child might adjust materials in two projects, then pause and ask for help in another. A portrait can bring these processes together while preserving the different conditions.
It is more than a list of shortened entries. One success does not establish persistence in every situation; a counterexample or new background can change the scope of an observation.
Real sources come first
Eligible child journals, original parent records and saved parent or child conversations can contribute to descriptive understanding. AI replies, display summaries, unsaved consultations and demo content do not become production portrait sources.
Family, child, audience permission and source revision are checked. Parent and child views can differ. Unshared journal content does not become visible to parents through a portrait.
Nine domains organize observations
Domains include interests, self-management, exploration, communication, emotions, relationships, self-understanding, creativity and everyday independence, alongside relevant life context.
Records need not fill every domain. Missing text does not mean a missing ability. The portrait is not a fixed personality assessment, interest stage or developmental ability score.
Context for later guidance and family understanding
Connected features such as journal opening prompts can read relevant current, authorized understanding. An invitation remains optional and does not turn background into today's facts.
Parent views show descriptive understanding separately from record statistics. Numerical observations use eligible journals and original parent records, not conversations. Entry counts, writing scores and points do not measure ability.
Understanding needs room for correction
Edits, deletions and permission changes stop affected old portraits from being delivered. A later formal source update rebuilds from remaining valid material. Descriptive text reflects a current source window, not all history.
Opening, refreshing or changing views does not generate a new model report. When text is not ready, the app waits for the formal update rather than filling gaps with guesses.
